Frequently Asked Questions
Get answers to common questions about forestry mulching, land clearing, pricing, and our process.
Pricing & Estimates
How much does forestry mulching cost?
Forestry mulching costs typically range from $1,000 to $3,500 for residential projects, depending on acreage, brush density, and terrain. Use our instant pricing calculator for a specific estimate, or contact us for a custom quote.
How much does it cost to clear an acre of land?
Land clearing costs vary based on vegetation density, terrain, and accessibility. Light brush typically runs $1,500-2,500 per acre, while heavy vegetation with trees can range from $2,500-4,000+ per acre. Our instant pricing tool gives you a customized estimate in minutes.
Do you charge by the hour or by the project?
We typically provide project-based quotes so you know exactly what to expect. This protects you from unexpected costs if the job takes longer than anticipated.
What's included in your land clearing estimate?
Our estimates include all labor, equipment, and fuel costs. The mulched debris is left on-site at no extra charge—no hauling fees. We provide a complete, transparent price with no hidden costs.
Is there a minimum project size?
We generally work on projects of 1/4 acre or larger, though we're happy to discuss smaller jobs depending on the situation.
Process & Timeline
What's the difference between land clearing and forestry mulching?
Land clearing is the general term for removing vegetation from property. Forestry mulching is a specific method that grinds vegetation into mulch on-site. Unlike traditional clearing that requires burning or hauling debris, forestry mulching is faster, more eco-friendly, and leaves beneficial mulch that enriches the soil.
How long will my project take?
Most residential projects under 2 acres are completed in a single day. Larger or more complex jobs may take 2-3 days. We'll provide a timeline estimate with your quote.
What happens to the debris?
That's the beauty of forestry mulching! The vegetation is ground into fine mulch and left on-site to decompose naturally. No burning, no hauling, no mess.
Do I need to be home during the project?
No, you don't need to be present during the work. We just need access to the property. We'll coordinate with you on gate codes, parking, and other logistics.
Services & Capabilities
What types of vegetation can forestry mulching handle?
Forestry mulching is incredibly versatile. Our equipment can handle everything from small brush and saplings to trees up to 6-8 inches in diameter. It's ideal for overgrown lots, dense underbrush, and invasive species removal.
What invasive species can you remove?
We remove all common invasive species in the Carolinas including honeysuckle, privet, kudzu, wisteria, english ivy, ligustrum, and more. Our forestry mulching equipment eliminates these plants quickly and efficiently, and the mulch layer helps suppress regrowth.
Can you remove large trees?
Our forestry mulchers can handle trees up to 6-8 inches in diameter. For larger trees, we can coordinate with tree removal specialists or provide recommendations.
Can you clear steep hillsides?
Yes! Our equipment is designed to handle challenging terrain, including steep slopes that standard equipment can't access safely.
Do you offer site prep for construction?
Absolutely. We clear land for new home construction, additions, outbuildings, pools, and commercial development. Our forestry mulching leaves the ground ready for the next phase of your project.
Service Area & Scheduling
What areas do you serve?
We serve Monroe, Charlotte, and the entire Greater Charlotte region including Union County, Mecklenburg County, Waxhaw, Indian Trail, Matthews, and surrounding areas within approximately 50 miles of Monroe, NC.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes, we are fully licensed and carry comprehensive liability insurance for your protection. We're happy to provide proof of insurance upon request.
How far out are you scheduling?
Our schedule varies by season—spring and fall are our busiest times. Typically we can schedule most projects within 1-2 weeks. Contact us for current availability.
After the Project
What should I do after clearing?
It depends on your plans. For construction, you're ready to go. For lawn areas, you may want to add topsoil and seed. For natural areas, the mulch will decompose and enrich the soil over time.
Will brush grow back?
Some regrowth is natural, especially with invasive species. However, the mulch layer suppresses growth, and maintaining the area is much easier after the initial clearing.
Is forestry mulching eco-friendly?
Yes! Forestry mulching is one of the most environmentally friendly land clearing methods. There's no burning (which releases carbon), no hauling (which uses fuel and fills landfills), and the mulch returns nutrients to the soil while preventing erosion.
